I use AMD Phantoms II's cause their cheaper (alot cheaper) and easier to overclock. Also AMD boards are alot cheaper

Though if you must go the intel route get I5 not I3

Nah its not they ain't as good as core 2's, I5's are a little better than core 2s. But Phantoms II's are pretty close to i7 that's y I love em half the price for like 5% decrease in performance.

hmm, i7 is a beast, but it's components are somewhat hard to change. If you're assembling it, you need to have compatible components

Well you just need the I7 board (I forget the model number) and the cpu and that's it, but an i5/i3/core 2 wont fit in that board, also their fecking expensive for both the cpu and board!
